Where to live in St. Pete Beach Florida

St. Pete Beach is a coastal city and Pinellas County just off the coast of St. Petersburg and is a barrier island south of Treasure Island and north of Shell Key and Tierra Shore. It's a combination of the towns of Pas-a-Grill, Bella Vista, St. Petersburg Beach, and some unincorporated areas of Pinellas County. 

Relocating to St. Pete Beach

So many people think that they need to be closer to Clearwater but St. Pete Beach is actually one of the better places to live in Pinellas County. Clearwater is not the end-all, be-all area. While it is popular for high-rise condominiums, events, activities, and things to do, St. Pete Beach is nothing to sneeze at.

St. Pete Beach is right in the center just 45 minutes south of Clearwater Beach and just 40 minutes away from downtown Tampa. St. Pete Beach is 20 minutes from Fort to Santo Park, one of the most popular parks, especially on the weekend. St. Pete Beach is about an hour from Lido Beach, another popular hotspot.

Residents are also close to all services and amenities such as gas stations, supermarkets, restaurants, shopping, and other services. Most of these places are all within walking distance.

Price Points for Homes for Sale in St. Pete Beach

At any given time there are roughly 50 properties for sale in St. Pete Beach priced from about $200,000 up to $4 million, but those that run over the $2 million mark are pretty few and far between. At the time of writing this there were only four properties over $2 million. The typical home value is about $570,000.

So, what can you get in St. Pete Beach for under $300,000?

There are about five properties under $300,000 starting at $189,000 for 600 square-foot one-bedroom, and one-bath condominium. This is on the Intracoastal waterway side just minutes from the beach and seconds from shopping and dining. As a single-family home, you can buy a one-bedroom, and one-bath home for around $250,000, making this a great rental, second-home, or vacation property.

St. Pete Beach Real Estate $300,000-$600,000

Here you'll find about a dozen properties in both condominiums and single-family homes. There are also a few lots still available that run around $350,000 depending on where it is located. Condominiums with lots of amenities, beachfront or waterfront access for a one or two-bedroom between 600 ft.² and 1300 ft.² run between $400,000 and $500,000. Smaller, beachfront homes and cottages start at about $500,000.

St. Pete Beach Real Estate $600,000-$900,000

Because St. Pete Beach is a popular vacation destination, you'll still find a lot of condominiums, beautiful views, waterfront access, marina access, and lots of amenities typically between $600,000 and $800,000. But remember, St. Pete Beach condominiums will have association dues of anywhere from $200 a month up to $1000 a month based on the type of amenities and maintenance provided to owners. You'll likely find two-bedroom units in this price range in sizes from 1100 ft.² to 2000 ft.².

St. Pete Beach Real Estate $900,000 +

There are actually more properties listed in this price range than anything else. Once you get over $900,000 you're likely to have a beachfront condominium, larger home, more square footage on the lot, and more amenities with condominiums. For instance, you can buy a beautiful three-bedroom, 2 1/2 bath, 2200 square-foot newer home with backyard swimming pool and larger lot for about $1.2 million. Beachfront homes with four bedrooms, four baths, and about 2600 ft.² go for around $1.4 million.

St. Pete Beach Neighborhoods

There are approximately 13 neighborhoods in St. Pete Beach, and each have different styles of homes or condominiums. Here are the most popular:

  • Pass-a-Grille Beach is known for its relaxed beachfront coastal boutiques, casual seafood spots, and beachfront bars.
  • Three Homes Point is a peninsula on the Intracoastal waterway primarily covered in condominium buildings and close to shopping and dining.
  • Vina Del Mar is located just south of the Pinellas by-way and features single-family homes over $800,000.
  • Don Cesar is a mix of residential and commercial properties close to the causeway.
  • Boca Ciega Isle is its own little almost island close to the Mirabella shopping center in the Intracoastal waterway where most homes have boat docks.
  • Punta Vista is a peninsula jutting out into the Intracoastal waterway with single-family homes and vacation rentals.
  • Belle Vista is a larger residential community with homes from about $500,000 to $1.5 million.
