About Indian Rocks Beach
Just a short distance from Tampa and St. Petersburg is the beautiful oceanfront community of Indian Rocks Beach. This community features 3 miles of lush beaches along the Gulf of Mexico. Located in Pinellas County, Indian Rocks Beach is home to about 5000 residents and is part of the Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater metro area.
How it got its name
Legend has it that Indian Rocks Beach got its name when a native medicine man healed his chief with the waters from a natural sulfur spring originally in what is now called Kolb Park across from City Hall. Early settlers to this area saw the Indians on their way to the "rock encircled spring", which received the name from the Indians on their way to the rocks, or so legend has it.
Today, the city of Indian Rocks Beach features 27 Beach access points along Gulf Boulevard with retail businesses, restaurants, and residential homes as well as multiple condominiums, many of which are listed on this page. The city borders itself stretches down Gulf Boulevard to about Whitehurst Ave., North to 28th Ave. N. Its borders merge into Sand Key and there are two main access points across the Belleair Causeway and Walsingham Road or Highway 688.
There are three main parks in Indian Rocks Beach, Brown Park, located towards the north end of the city, Kolb Park in the middle and the Indian Rocks Beach Nature Preserve featuring a dog park and multiple trails.

Chez Soleil – The small complex was built in 2000 and features beachfront condominium units, five stories, and pets are allowed.
Da Vinci - This complex was built in 2012 and offers four floors and 21 luxury Gulf view condominium units with high ceilings and lots of amenities.
Driftwood Sands – This older complex is the northernmost condo building featuring two, three, and four-bedroom floor plans built in 1982. Sizes are between 1200 ft.² and 2000 ft.².
Harbourside at Marker 33 – This is one of Indian Rocks Beach's newest complexes built in 2016. It's also one of the largest buildings and features its own waterpark.
Hawksbill Moon Retreat –, this is one of the newest townhouse complexes in Indian Rocks Beach. Offering beautiful Gulf of Mexico views, this is just a four-unit complex with all quarter units for maximum seclusion. Each unit features three stories with a garage and 1950 ft.² each.
Oceanside – This oceanfront condominium features beautiful water views, potential rentals, and was built in 2004.
Oceanway – Constructed in 2004, this four-story complex sits right on the beach with easy access to the ocean and layouts of around 1400 ft.².
Reef Club – An older complex built in 1983, 55 units of all three bedrooms and two bath layouts are nestled on the beachfront shores of the community and probably has one of the most lenient rental policies you'll find in the city.
Reflections On the Gulf – Constructed in 1981, this beachfront condominium complex features two towers with units from 1275 ft.² to nearly 2000 ft.².
Scopello – This boutique, four-story complex features just 18 two and three-bedroom units built in 2005. Residents have a beachfront pool with cabana and spa.
Sunraker West – Built in 1981, this unit is technically an oceanfront property but there are a few buildings in front of the complex. It offers low homeowner association dues, with small, perfectly rentable beachfront units.
The Cove – This complex was built in 2014 and features spacious three bedroom and three bath townhouse style units with nearly 2000 ft.² of living space located between the bridge and seventh Avenue with easy access to the beach just steps away.
The Walk - This is new construction as of 2021. This complex features 2 to 3 bedrooms and is a townhouse-style unit. This complex has a pool and is located just steps away from the beach. You will be on the East side of Gulf Blvd right next to 18 on the Rocks an amazing real seafood restaurant.
Windrush Cove – probably the most iconic complex, built-in 1976, this 100 unit building features moderately priced two-bedroom condominium units with easy access to the beach although it is not beachfront.
Each condominium complex and unit will have their own Association and condo dues are typically between $150 and $800 per month depending on the condition of the units, size, and amenities. More amenities and features for residents and their guests, the higher the HOA fees. Several complexes have swimming pools, spas, fitness centers, and tennis courts while others offer a more simplistic design and style as well as lower Association fees.
